There’s almost, no better feeling in the world then arriving to a sporting event, minutes before or even after its started, and bartering down the ticket price from a fast talking hawker for a seat at the game, trying to make a profit.
It’s a great feeling when you win the battle.
Whether you like soccer or not, pay close attention to any headlines you see on the sport, as the transfer deadline is Friday afternoon in Europe.
It’s basically the same as the trade deadline in MLB, NBA or the NFL, only teams pay insane tribute to throw crazy money at a player and lure them away from their current club.
Pay particular close attention any headlines bearing American Clint Dempsey’s name. Since the conclusion of last season, Dempsey has stated his desire to play for a a Champions League club (the top teams from around Europe competing in a league tournament) than current club in Fullham.
His name has been linked with Liverpool for sometime now, though no official has been made according to British tabloids. If I were to guess… Liverpool is treating Dempsey as a ticket to a game. Let the market bring down his value as the 11th hour approaches and if you can get him at discount… Buy! Buy! Buy!
That’s my two cents anyway.
So if you are a cheapskate like me and love paying for great goods at discount, you might be a soccer fan… You just didn’t know it.
